Edmonton Expo

This past weekend I travelled down to Edmonton for Comic-con. It was an awesome event in which I had seen people dressed up in costumes. All kinds of characters were there like Batman, Catwoman, Haley Quinn and Bane. I had seen someone dressed up as Sheppard from Mass Effect franchise. I also seen a group of people dressed as the characters from Legend of Korra which was very cool. And I noticed that someone dressed as a Browncoat from Firefly as I was walking in the opposite direction that was cool.
The main attraction for me there was getting a autograph from Jewel Staite, she played the mechanic on the TV show Firefly and movie Serenity. I went to her panel later on Day 1. She is a very nice person and gracious that part of her job is to come to convention's. In her panel she answered some questions from the audience, some were about her time on Firefly and Star Gate Atlantis. They were funny too.
On the convention floor I had boughten a few t-shirts, a Jayne hat and a couple of artwork photos by Mike Sass who does the artwork for Bioware games.
While I was at the convention I also went to a panel on the Mass Effect Universe, which featured the cinematic designer's and writer's of the Mass Effect Trilogy. One question from the audience that was the funniest was "What was the hardest obstacle you have had while making Mass Effect?" They said "Making the game for the PlayStation 3" The crowd roar in laughter and cheered. It was pretty interesting panel to see the people who made this great trilogy.
This expo was really organized and nicely setup. The concession's were setup outside of the main floor and huge hallways for crowds to line up at. Rhetoric volunteers at the expo knew what they were doing also. Mind you this convention is pretty small compared to Calgary Expo earlier this year, because of the guests they had.
What I want to do is buy a Viper pilot flight suit from Battlestar Galactica to a convention. Hopefully I will be able to afford it before Calgary Expo next year.
